MELODIC DRUMMER

I am a passionate musician, committed to doing a professional job. My approach is to play the drums in a musical way - first and foremost providing a solid beat and bringing a melodic sense to the rhythm in support of the music. As well as playing in various projects, I have an ongoing commitment to improving my musicianship.

I'm currently the drummer for Oxford-based indie band, Jody and the Jerms.

My musical loves are reggae, soul, funk and jazz. However, I am experienced in a variety of styles and able to adapt easily. I am also a solid rhythm guitar player and can provide backing vocals.

I have played in a variety of bands - blues, indie/rock, country, folk, jazz, funk, reggae and world music. I toured the UK and Europe with Keep It Cash, a Johnny Cash tribute band, for 10 years and taught drums and percussion for the East Riding of Yorkshire and Hull Music Services over that same period. I trained to grade 8 standard through ABRSM and have continued self-learning.

I am based near to Newbury, Berkshire - easy access to London and Bristol.
